This week, the Green Talent project celebrates its first birthday. One year ago, on the 1st of June 2025, the Green Talent project was officially launched with an ambitious mission to unite research, innovation, and cross-sector expertise in the fight against biodiversity loss and climate change. As the project marks its one-year anniversary, the consortium reflects on all milestones and progress achieved so far throughout the project and is eager to witness what is next to come in the following three years.
During this past year, Green Talent has achieved major success in establishing an engaged community of practice through international collaboration with various relevant stakeholders within and outside the project’s Widening Countries and their respective Demonstration Hubs. The project has also made significant strides in developing training pathways and advancing capacity-building in research and innovation for early-career researchers, established scientists, and experts, fostering cross-sectoral dialogues, as well as public and private decision-making. This all has been achieved by investing in people and encouraging inclusion, collaboration, and networking within the project’s four DemoHubs.
As Green Talent enters its 2nd year, the whole consortium aims to continue equipping the next generation of R&I talents across academic and non-academic sectors through the development of training schools, facilitation of secondments, and launch of a dedicated Capacity-Building Platform to ensure ongoing engagement and knowledge sharing.
