Between 11 and 12 September 2025, GREEN TALENT’s consortium gathered in Valetta, Malta for the project’s official kick-off meeting. Organised by the coordination team from Ecostack Innovations, the two-day event set the tone for the project’s objectives, future activities, outcomes, and expected results. Experts from various realms of knowledge - from environmental sustainability, ecology and data analytics to communications, innovation and business - came together to address the pressing challenges facing the green transition today.
During the first day of the event, members of the Executive and International Advisory Boards gave presentations on the Work Packages (WP1-WP7), highlighting the collaborative efforts behind the project’s ambitious goals. The day continued with a General Assembly, attended by all consortium members and aimed at facilitating knowledge exchange and developing strategies on how to contribute to the project’s success.
In the afternoon, partners participated in an interactive workshop, where they were asked to rate questions for a cross-sector stakeholder survey, designed to reach academia, private and public sectors, and more. As a twist, participants were assigned to sectors different from the ones they actually work in, challenging them to get out of their comfort zones and adopt brand new perspectives. The day ended with a creative activity, traditional Maltese tiles painting, allowing partners to immerse themselves in Maltese culture and explore local traditions.

The second day of the kick-off meeting offered a number of training sessions and discussions, involving topics such as quality assurance, gender equality, ethics and GDPR. Additional sessions focused on presenting and discussing the project’s Demonstration Hubs (WP5) and planned secondments. The afternoon was dedicated to workshops, intended to increase partners’ knowledge on science communication. The activities centered around identifying stakeholder groups and selecting the most suitable communication channels and tools for engaging target audiences. Finally, the last workshop highlighted the global network of NATURA and how its global roadmap and nature-based solutions align with the GREEN TALENT initiative.
