The Malta Demonstration Hub explores how Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) can enhance biodiversity, climate resilience, and community well-being across urban and rural areas, while supporting businesses in shifting toward nature-positive models.

With limited natural space and growing climate stress, Malta needs stronger evidence on effective NBS. This pilot links research to real-world action to support ecosystems, well-being, and a resilient green economy.
The Hub will engage island communities, policymakers, and experts to co-develop knowledge on biodiversity, cultural heritage, and ecosystem services. It will map and model land and seascape changes, use machine-learning tools to identify environmental drivers, explore future scenarios using data analytics, and build long-term local capacity through training, participatory processes, and cross-sector collaboration.

Deliver findings on NBS impacts. Identify R&I opportunities and build stronger links between sectors for long-term capacity-building and nature-positive transformation.
