The Bulgarian Demonstration Hub is all about strengthening an existing community of practice (SELINA project) by integrating museum and biodiversity records, sharing biodiversity data at the science-policy interface, and incorporating IPBES and IPCC outputs for public and private decision-making.

Bulgaria lags in implementing IPBES and IPCC materials, and national capacity remains limited and fragmented. Few experts are involved, limiting the country's contributions and access to international networks. Information has been promoted mainly by scientists, while the IPCC briefly gained political attention during the 61st plenary hosted in Bulgaria.
The Hub aims to expand the existing community of practice, engage new members, strengthen collaboration, and support sustainable efforts to address biodiversity, ecosystem services, and climate change in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe by actively sharing insights from IPBES and IPCC. In addition, IPBES assessments will be analysed in the national context to identify relevant gaps and formulate recommendations for future assessment cycles. The initiative will also include stakeholders in discussions.
