The National Museum of Natural History
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is the oldest museum in Bulgaria and the oldest and richest among the natural history museums on the Balkan Peninsula. NMNH activities include fundamental and applied research; management and preservation of collections; science communication through exhibitions and popular science literature; and education and training. A priority for the museum is the study of the evolution and dynamics of biological diversity as well as the conservation of the natural environment.
