The National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy, and Geography performs fundamental and applied research in geophysics, seismology, seismic mechanics, seismic engineering, geodesy, and geography. The Institute provides operational, monitoring, and expert information and training of specialists. These activities are aimed at the sustainable development of society based on knowledge and are carried out in five departments: Geophysics, Seismology, Seismic Engineering, Geodesy, and Geography.
