The overarching aim of the Green Talent project has always been clear: to build vital biodiversity and climate capacity at the national level. Today, we are thrilled to announce a major milestone toward that goal. The Green Talent Capacity-Building Platform is officially live.

Once fully rolled out, the platform will feature several specialised sections designed to connect people, foster collaboration, and provide the tools needed to drive the green transition. Whether it's halting biodiversity loss or advancing climate mitigation and adaptation, this platform will be the ultimate hub for empowering change-makers.

What’s Available Right Now?

The platform is launching in phases, and Phase 1 is officially open.

The platform is set to consist of several sections with different focal points, all with the same goal - to connect people, allow them to collaborate and provide them with tools and opportunities to develop their skills and enhance their capacity to support the green transition by contributing to halting biodiversity loss, and advancing climate mitigation and adaptation.

The first section of the platform, namely the Exchange forum, is now functional and available for all to use. The Platform allows users to browse all content, but to interact with this in the following launches of the platform, subscription is available and encouraged.

What’s Coming Next

In its final version, the Green Talent platform will serve as a comprehensive, multi-faceted ecosystem featuring:

  • The Exchange Forum: A dynamic space for continuous knowledge sharing, collaboration, and professional development. It will host virtual events and link to in-person workshops, webinars, and conferences to foster a vibrant Research & Innovation (R&I) community.

  • Needs Assessment Tool: A dedicated analytical tool to help organisations and individuals identify specific R&I gaps and needs within their work or institution.

  • R&I Best Practices: A carefully curated repository of successful case studies and proven strategies across various green sectors.

  • Training Corner: A one-stop shop providing open access to training materials, workshop archives, and insights from our training schools.

  • The Roadmap: A Cross-Sectoral Roadmap outlining actionable steps for successfully building R&I capacity, developed throughout the lifespan of the project.

Sustaining the Green Transition

A collaborative effort by the entire Green Talent consortium, the completed platform will integrate resources from various training initiatives to support continuous learning across both academic and non-academic sectors.

By fostering a culture of ongoing engagement, this platform ensures that the benefits of our collective training are sustained over time- ultimately strengthening global R&I capacity and building a resilient, greener future.
